Course fees and payment
Course fees are payable at the time of enrolment. My place in the course is confirmed once the required payment has been received, unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed with the Australian Institute of Social Relations (AISR).
Course cancellation or rescheduling by AISR
AISR may cancel or reschedule a course where necessary, including where minimum participant numbers are not met or circumstances prevent the course from proceeding as planned.
If AISR cancels a course and does not provide an appropriate alternative, any course fees I have paid will be refunded in full.
If AISR reschedules a course and I am unable to attend the new date, any course fees I have paid will be refunded in full.
Withdrawal and refunds
AISR does not provide refunds where I withdraw from a course because I have changed my mind or my personal circumstances have changed.
Where another offering of the same course is published on the AISR website and is open for enrolment, I may request to transfer my enrolment to that offering. One transfer is permitted per enrolment, subject to availability, and the new course must take place within the same calendar year.
My enrolment cannot be transferred to another person.
Online courses
For online courses, I am responsible for ensuring I have access to a suitable device, reliable internet connection and any other technology identified in the course information.
Access to online course content is provided to me as the enrolled participant and must not be shared with another person.
Course materials remain the intellectual property of AISR or the relevant content owner. Materials must not be copied, reproduced, shared or distributed except for my own participation in the course or where permission has been provided.
The withdrawal, refund and transfer conditions above apply regardless of whether I have accessed or commenced the online course.
Face-to-face courses
For face-to-face courses, I am responsible for attending at the location, date and time advised by AISR.
If I am unable to attend, the withdrawal, refund and transfer conditions above apply.
Privacy and personal information
AISR collects personal information through this enrolment to process and administer my enrolment, provide the course or service, communicate with me about my participation, process payments, maintain appropriate records, evaluate and improve its services, and meet applicable legal, contractual and reporting requirements.
My personal information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary for these purposes, including to:
- my employer or sponsoring organisation, where they are paying for or coordinating my participation
- service providers that support the administration or delivery of the course
- government departments, regulatory bodies or other authorised agencies where required or authorised by law
- organisations undertaking research or evaluation on behalf of AISR, with de-identified information used where appropriate.
AISR handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
